Triathlon refkection

Triathlon Reflection

How did feel before event?
I felt nervous and excited at the same time and felt like I had butterflies in my stomach.

What part was the hardest
easiest= why?
I found biking easy but I tried my best kinda and it was very fun.

How did you do - enjoy
I did really great but then I was slowing down.

What would you like to improve.
My biking, because I was going a bit slow and came 5th or 4th.

Suggestion to teachers-

There should maybe be a stand where you can buy some soft drinks (soda) for maybe $2 and more speakers if we can afford it.

Athletics Reflection

Athletics Reflection
I think I did well in the athletics because I tried my best and came 5th in the 100 meter run.

I enjoyed jumping over the pole in high jump because I get to land on the big blue mattress.

My most successful event was the 50 meter hurdle run, because I came 2nd in the 1st round, and 3rd in the 2nd and 3rd round.

My least successful event was the inter school high jump because when I got over the pole in my last 2 jumps I either touched the pole with my feet or hand.

I could have improved on not touching the pole when I jumped up into the air and onto the mattress. Throwing the soft ball into the air so it goes further

If the hurdle run was longer, if you had more chances for the inter schools high jump, and if the the 100 meter run was a little longer.

Lol Pop reflection

LOL POP
Market Day
Room 20’s and 9’s company name was called 29ers food company, the  product was called LOL POP. Our catchphrase was Lickin it, eatin it, laughing out loud.

I think that everyone did a great job on their posters and same with the other classes.

Lol pop was really tasty when I tried it for the first time. It was easy to take out of the cup as well.

I learnt how to advertise from reading other adverts, I also learnt how to create one as well.

I think that the free gift was a great idea for the product because more kids will buy it. The free gift was a moustache.

2nd Production Reflection

Production Reflection
Wednesday 27th August 2014, all the Yr 4,5’s and 6’s had a production to do at 6:30pm. There were 4 legends, room 11 and 20 (that’s us) was the last group to do the “LEGEND OF TE MATA O RONGOKAKO”. I was in the back row of the carvers who were in the front of the rest. We heard the starting group of the play start talking. The curtains opened and the play began.

I was feeling pretty nervous before the play started and seeing all those people made me worry but then I realized that I’ve been practising so I should do well. When we finished doing our play, I was glad and really tired.

I thought the play went really well but we had some errors and people secretly getting in trouble but I thought everyone did a good job on the production.

I need to work on my expression,  being less worried and the kapa haka the rest was just all goods.

The Production

Production Reflection
LEGEND RONGOKAKO
On 27th of August 2014 Nga Rakau Nui is performing a production in the hall at half past 6. Room 20’s and 11’s production is about how Te Mata Peak was formed.

I am feeling pretty nervous about the production because I may mess up when I’m acting to Kotahitanga.

I am worried about how I will act when it’s just my turn to talk.

I am feeling confident about standing in the front of the carvers and practising in front of some people will make me more confident.

I am excited about doing Kotahitanga with a patu (cardboard) and watching Rongokako die at the end of our production.

I still need to work on saying “Kiora, we are the carvers the makers of tools for hunting and warfare” a bit louder and with more expression.

Room 20 Science Show Reflection

Our class had an assembly item to share with the whole school, and most of the class were dressed up as MAD SCIENTISTS. We put in a lot of work and some of us were nervous and shaky, but then they were relaxed when the hopped off stage.

ROOM 20 SCIENCE SHOW
reflection
6TH of June 2014 9:00 in the morning, our class had an assembly item for the school. It was about our universe and how it works. Our class wore their green ties and scientists cloaks. I grasped my scientist goggles and mustache to place on my head and face, then we trotted down to the hall where we rehearsed. We had some accidents with the speakers when Erin spoke through the microphone after Marcus asked the question about “Why do we have day and night”. Then a Fantail came out of nowhere, some of the kids were just staring at the Fantail then the kids up on stage. All the scientists were getting dressed into their cloaks ready for their part, then it was my turn to speak. The question our group chose was ‘why can’t we breathe in space?’.

I was feeling pretty nervous before we started, I was worrying about how I would react when it was my turn to talk in front of the whole school. My heart was beating fast like a cheetah, but then I didn't feel so nervous after I finished my line.

I was happy with my performance because I said my part very well and I didn't mess up or repeat words five times, or more.

I felt so proud of myself after I said my line because I said it clearly and in a loud enough voice. But I was mainly proud of myself because I got to hop off stage and get it done with.

I need to work on talking in front of the audience, looking at up instead of looking down at script but I would look if I forget a word or two, and try not to get so nervous.

Mathletics poster

Last week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday our class has been doing some mathletics posters on our own design. First we practiced doing some designs that were already made, and then we started on making our design. I hope you enjoy reading my reflection. :)

Mathletics 2013 reflection by Tyrone

Something I was pleased with was  my mathletics poster because it looks cool with the black and white squares, it also looks cool with the 3D stars in the eyes.

I really enjoyed learning how to make a Mathletics poster because it was fun and I got to create something like and then make my own design.

Something I found hard was figuring out what kind of design I could create.

Something that made me think was working out what kind of design I should make.

My report by Tyrone

This is my report on this year in room 16 as a year 5, I hope you enjoy reading it.  :)

My year so far in Room 16 by Tyrone

My favourite thing about being in Room 16 in 2013 is that I’m in a computer class and that I can share stuff on my blog and they can comment about it.

Something I would like to do in term four is make lego comics about the room 16 superhero stories  with Lego digital designer and Comic life.

Something I would like to do next year is play rugby?

My dream job would be to be in the army.

Reading

The best thing about reading so far this year is actively learn.

The best thing I read this year was Dead Harry. I enjoyed it because it sounded fun and  it had a lot of action. The funny thing was when a teacher said “Have a nice barbeque kids” when a fire was happening.

This is my favourite reading blog post that I created. I chose it because it was my second reading blog post I think and it’s very interesting how the whale got born.

This is my favourite reading post from someone else. I think it is awesome because it had the part when Thunder skull sacrificed his life to save the others and then at the end the team heard a mysterious voice. I really want to see what happens next.
Maths

The best thing about maths so far this year is power lines when you can try and figure out the questions.

I was most proud of learning how to do area and perimeter. I was proud because I didn’t know how to do area and perimeter and it was fun learning this.

This is my favourite maths blog post that I created. I chose it because it looks cool and it was fun hiding Mr M and Marcus trying to find it.

This is my favourite maths post from someone else. I think it is awesome because he has done some really good work on hiding Mr M too, I also like how Marcus drew the island as a creeper face

I am really good power lines phase 1 but I forget the the answers to the questions.
I want to get better at doing times tables quicker in my head.

Writing

The best thing about writing so far this year is that you can make up stories about our super hero and the other room 16 superheroes.

I was most proud of learning how to write cool stories. I was proud because it was pretty cool and I could imagine it in my head while I was writing it.

This is my favourite writing blog post that I created. I chose it because I had really fun writing it and that it had some

This is my favourite writing post from someone else. I think it is awesome because it had some funny things that happened in the story and it Inderpreet put in a cool bad guy and he had a cool name too.

I am really good at writing stories with made up creations or something?
I want to get better at writing stories.
Integrated Topic

My favourite part of topic has been drawing a coat of arms.  I enjoyed it because I got to draw some stuff and a shield and I enjoyed making it.

This is my favourite topic blog post that I created. I chose it because I really like the drawing of the video game controllers, the gun and the grenade.

This is my favourite topic post from someone else. I think it is awesome because he drawed a pretty cool NZ flag and he told what the drawings were of.

Optimist yachting 4

Today we were kayaking with room 20 and the wind was pretty strong to kayak in, I have created an ptimist yachting and kayaking reflection. I've also created a taxedo of my reflection. Please comment. :)

Reflection for Yachting/Kayaking:Day 4

Something I was pleased with was how nobody tipped their kayaks over and fall into the water because if they did tip their kayaks they would need help to get land.
I really enjoyed learning how to push my kayak into the water because I would get stuck on land and get back into the water.

Something I found hard was controlling the main sheet because it would sometimes come off and we almost sank our yacht!
Something that made me think was which way to paddle on the kayak because I would have to paddle right to go left and left to go right.
Something I want to get better at is kayaking. (What can I do about it?) Paddle strong and rest my legs and arms when tired.

Optimist Yachting 3

Here is my  reflection of day 3 and I have created a lego yacht with 3 people in it, the one with the black hood is me, the one in the green cap is Elijah and the one with black hair is Shivom. I hope you like it! Please comment. :)

Reflection for Yachting/Kayaking reflection: Day 3
Something I was pleased with was that people participated and didn’t lose their paddles in kayaking because if they didn’t participate they WILL lose their paddle.
I really enjoyed learning how to steer the yacht with the rudder because it was fun to steer and I knew how to tack.

Something I found hard was kayaking in a double because I would get a sore back and my legs would get tired.
Something that made me think was which way to turn when it was my turn to do the rudder because I would need to know to tack, or turn left or right, or, just make the rudder go straight.

Something I want to get better at is controlling the main sheet.(What can I do about it?) Let someone else do the main sheet?

Optimist yachting 2

Here is my second reflection of optimist yachting and kayaking and it was a bit windy,  but at least I had fun. I created a Taxedo of my reflection on Tagxedo - Creator. Hope you enjoy my reflection and taxedo! Please comment. :)

Reflection for Yachting/Kayaking:Day 2
Something I was pleased with was how nobody fell out of their yacht in the windy wind because if they did they will get cold and will be unable to kayak.
I really enjoyed learning how to go under the bridge without snapping the end of the paddle because if I didn’t learn it I would have broken the paddle!

Something I found hard was balancing the boat because the wind was tipping the boat and making it go all crazy and the boat went fast when I loosened the main sheet.
Something that made me think was kayaking because I would need to know which way to left and right backwards and forwards.
Something I want to get better at is paddling faster. (What can I do about it?)  Put my back into it?

Optimist Yachting

Here is my Optimist Yachting and kayaking reflection of day 1 and I also created a Go Animate video, I had fun riding the yacht and kayaking. Please comment. :)

Reflection for Yachting/Kayaking: Day 1
Something I was pleased with was how people didn’t sink their boats because if they did it would cost maybe $100.
I really enjoyed learning how to capsize and steer the boat while someone moves the main sheet. I really enjoyed steering the yacht because it was fun and amazing, I really liked capsizing because it was scary and cool.

Something I found hard was controlling the main sheet because I would have to loosen or tighten the rope so we wouldn't crash into the people who were kayaking.
Something that made me think was watching were the sail/main sheet was heading because it would hit my head and I did not want to end up unconscious.

Something I want to get better at is controlling the sail. (What can I do about it?) Maybe when I need to go fast tighten the rope and when I need to slow down loosen the rope?

Camp Reflection

Here is my Camp reflection of Camp Kaitawa. the photos I put up are my favorite. Hope you like it.

Reflection for Camp

My goal for camp was to complete all the activities in the Amazing Race and have much fun as I can!

I achieved this because my group came second and I did have fun during the 5 days.

Something I was pleased with was how everyone did their best in the confidence course,

because some of the things were a bit hard for the adults and children but I was most pleased with myself because I did the flip on the 5th or 6th  course of the Confidence Course.
I really enjoyed learning  how to Kayak backwards even though I’ve done it before, and I learnt how to cave.

Because I have never done caving before in my entire life and it’s been really fun just trying my best.
Something I found hard was caving up the steep cave was difficult for me.
Something that made me think was the amazing race,
because it was difficult to try and solve the questions.
· My top 5 favourite things about camp were:
